AYAKA OHIRA (大平彩華)

Born in Fukuoka, Japan. Tokyo-based animation director and artist.

 

Her works merge 90s–00s Japanese anime, manga, and gal culture, creating worlds that feel both nostalgic and futuristic.

 

She has directed music videos and created artwork for artists including Tove Lo, m-flo, YOASOBI, Number_i, Kana Nishino, and Hatsune Miku, and has collaborated with fashion brands such as NIKE and Levi’s.

 

Her original anime project Shinsei Galverse reimagines gal culture through a sci-fi lens and has gained wide attention as a next-generation anime series, which premiered in 2025.
